Not seeing the one who wields power as a demon, But taming the wild stream of one's own mind, Thus gaining mastery over the supreme city of the Victorious Ones, May the incomparable guides look upon me! Dwelling in solitude, not distracted by other affairs, Perfecting the conduct of enlightenment by sitting in leisure, May we also become like those great Bodhisattvas, Thus, with faith, I join my two hands in supplication. Empty of the path where the reckless wander, 9-464 Pleasing to the conscientious ascetics, A solitary place relied upon again and again by the assemblies of Thubpa (Buddha), That solitary place, my mind longs for it. Like gold as the ground, painted with the light of the blue sky, On the green slopes of grass, the deer, Carefree, playing and frolicking, an inexhaustible spectacle, That solitary place, my mind longs for it. The moon, tired from circling the mountain, The appearance of the snow mountains, like sleeping on the peaks, Even in the summer, possessing the glory of coolness, That solitary place, my mind longs for it. With the pure devotion of drizzling starlight, Like being frozen, between the cliffs of the steep mountains, The song of the cuckoo, dispelling sorrow, That solitary place, my mind longs for it. Having come today from the gathering place, The young sapling, with the hands of its branches, Welcoming guests with various nectarous fruits, That solitary place, my mind longs for it. The shelter of piled-up rocks of various jewels, Like a Dharma seat's stone slab moved to the front, A delightful cave with a stone mattress, That solitary place, my mind longs for it.
