【English Translation】 Collection of Teachings by the Omniscient Pema Karpo PK216: A Praise and Request for Peace A Praise and Request for Peace Homage to the Glorious Lord of Wisdom, the Raven-Headed One! Hum! Merely grasping a fraction of pure white peace, one becomes the great sovereign of the three realms, a constant object of reliance. Therefore, possessing the complete aspect of purity, other than you, there is no refuge to protect from the suffering of samsara; we earnestly beseech you. To the master of the stars of great desires, praised as the 'Lord of the Night,' by this reckoning, all the praises that exist in these three worlds are fitting to be offered to you. Having made everything seem as clear as day, the gleam of the jackal's teeth is taken to be dim. You have utterly destroyed the armies of the four maras, and you are fearless in the face of anything, which is amazing! Since you have directly accomplished the three families, therefore, you are liberated from all obscurations. Since you know everything and see everything, you are worthy to be the teacher of all, so I prostrate. Your excellent Dharma wheel, revolves in the streams of the three families, pacifying the enemy of afflictions, maturing into liberation, living in bliss, wearing the crown of command, towering like the glorious topknot of the goddess of fortune. Sometimes showing peace, sometimes showing wrath, showing desire and so on as desired, the unchanging sphere of reality. Having trained in the illusion of mantras, it seems like the substance that performs magic. Like medicine and the trees of a solitary forest, you appear everywhere for the benefit of beings. Who can proclaim the words of the abandoned Manjushri, henceforth the name of poverty and destitution will be exhausted. Like a mother not being angry at her young child's misdeeds, but scolding, speaking unpleasant words, is also a manifestation of love, your wrathful appearance is also like that. By the logic of the implements held in your four hands, this has been made to be invoked as a beneficial friend. In the past, aspirations were made, now diligent practice, finally attaining maturity, becoming a great accomplisher of cause and effect, dependent arising. You are the spring that leads to virtuous deeds, also the fear of sin, the manifest executioner of life. Holding a sharp sword in the trunk of a mad elephant, cutting the evil lineage of hostile heretics. You are the medicine girl, the king of wish-fulfilling trees, the power of the hook, weapons, and the wheel, flows manifestly from the holes of your spoken secret mantras, reasoning, and collections of dharanis, samadhi mudras. Even if harm is inflicted, the compassion of your power brings happiness.

【English Translation】 Like the sound of ashes being drawn away, uniting cutting off and embracing into one, purifying black and white karma into equality. Your splendor, like the kalpas of the Buddha himself, is inexhaustible, like the sands of the Ganges. Therefore, I do not dare to speak, but wish to offer these words as a preliminary expression of auspiciousness. Due to the increasing darkness of the degenerate age, it is difficult to discern. You are the Victorious One, the Great Protector. If there is any mistake in distinguishing between the Teacher and the holder of the lineage, I confess. However, you embrace all without bias, accomplishing the benefit of others. This is a supreme act, worthy of praise. Therefore, the precious teachings of the Buddha, which are difficult to find even in the sources of time, may you reveal all that exists and grant it to us for the sake of great enjoyment. Some boast of being able to teach and debate, but they deceive others with false reasoning, like gold mixed with gravel. Although they can eliminate faults, they cannot achieve their desired goals. This is not something that others can do. Abandoning one's own system and only slandering others increases the fatigue of body, speech, and mind. One's own system disappears like a rainbow, empty and without substance. May you dispel this darkness of false words like rain and make the Buddha's teachings shine like the sun. By rushing wildly on the plains of the tantras, one is deprived of the essence of ripening and completion stages. These efforts of following after illusory words are exhausting. I always pray that you will grant them a breath of relief. Hastening to go to the state of Buddhahood in one lifetime, even if one enters this path of essence, one is lost due to the lack of qualified guides. I utter cries of lamentation, asking for the guidance of a virtuous friend. From this vast opportunity of happiness, abandoning the path of happiness and stubbornly rushing into the dangerous paths of the lower realms, not listening to advice and forcing one's way in, I call upon you to impose a stern punishment. You are Mount Kailash (a sacred mountain), the source of all virtues, a treasure of pure white nectar. We are tormented by the heat of samsara (cyclic existence), and we long for your compassion. Please do not delay the time to save beings. For the time being, put aside self-interest. If you consider it, may you send down the rain of joy that accumulates the benefit of others, like a treasure hidden by a king for common use. May this useless disappearance not happen again. If everything depends on oneself, then autonomy and freedom will be lost. The sick need a doctor, and the fields need cultivation. If one does not strive, everything will be in vain. Like snow, if it does not meet the heat, it will not be able to pour forth a stream of coolness. May you dispel the darkness of ignorance with the light of compassion, so that all beings may attain the joy of liberation. "You are Mount Kailash (a sacred mountain), the source of all virtues, a treasure of pure white nectar. We are tormented by the heat of samsara (cyclic existence), and we long for your compassion. Please do not delay the time to save beings." "For the time being, put aside self-interest. If you consider it, may you send down the rain of joy that accumulates the benefit of others, like a treasure hidden by a king for common use. May this useless disappearance not happen again." "If everything depends on oneself, then autonomy and freedom will be lost. The sick need a doctor, and the fields need cultivation. If one does not strive, everything will be in vain." "Like snow, if it does not meet the heat, it will not be able to pour forth a stream of coolness. May you dispel the darkness of ignorance with the light of compassion, so that all beings may attain the joy of liberation."

【現代漢語翻譯】 辛勤勞作如鑿石取水終獲寶， 懇請明示因由，以勵尊神之心。 我力微薄，故需仰仗于您， 若勢均力敵，則無需相求。 還請垂鑒，英雄之間亦需互助， 我如臨終之人般絮叨祈請。 我以頭頂洞穴如帽般尊崇您， 以誓物為憑依呼喚您。 我甘願承受九種苦難來供養您， 然您卻吝于賜予，怙主啊，我對您期望漸少。 我遭受一切佛法上的違緣， 痛苦也未曾稍減。 老病死亡的怖畏亦步亦趨， 我淚如雨下，祈求您的救助。 所有這些加害於我的，皆化為烏有，嚓讓讓！ 所有助益，如清涼庇護之云般消散，亞雷雷！ 我該如何是好？徒勞慟哭，嗚呼哀哉，德熱熱！ 縱使令您厭煩，亦無他法。 我致力於聞思修， 然護持經教的聞思證悟卻遇此障礙。 您若不予遣除，漠然處之， 則護法尊神之名，徒有虛名。 此世雖貧困潦倒， 然世人多重財物而輕佛法。 若此等時局您亦不予平息， 則有違于佛前所立之誓言。 慈悲之主，亦僅聞其名， 成就圓滿利他，亦不過空談。 能力亦被他人奪走，自慚形穢。 瑜伽士心生絕望，命不久矣。 我欲如法行持， 此心不二，唯您可鑑。 故請垂聽我真誠之祈請， 攜眷屬眷眾，奮起神力吧！ 蓮花白著。祈請四臂怙主息災。
【English Translation】 Diligently toiling, like extracting treasure from water by digging, ultimately yields riches, I earnestly request you to reveal the reasons and encourage your divine mind. My power is weak, so I must rely on you, If strength were equal, there would be no need to ask. Please also observe that heroes need to help each other, I implore like a dying person with rambling words. I wear the cave on my head like a hat to revere you, I call upon you with sacred substances as support. I willingly endure nine hardships to offer to you, But you are reluctant to grant boons, Protector, my expectations of you diminish. I suffer all obstacles to the Dharma, And the accumulation of suffering has not lessened. The fears of old age, sickness, and death follow closely, I shed tears freely, come to my aid. All these harms done to me, may they all vanish, tsa ram ram! All benefits, may they dissipate like cool sheltering clouds, ya le le! What should I do? Vainly wailing, alas, de ri ri! Even if it annoys you, there is no other way. I strive in listening, thinking, and meditating, But the teachings of scripture and realization, which uphold the doctrine, encounter such obstacles. If you do not eliminate them and remain indifferent, Then the name of the powerful Dharma protector will become empty. Although this world is poor and destitute, Most people value wealth more than the Dharma. If you do not pacify this kind of situation, Then you will break the vows made before the Buddhas. The Lord of Compassion is only heard in name, Achieving perfect benefit for others is just empty talk. The ability is also taken by others, feeling inferior. The yogi becomes discouraged, and life is not long. I wish to act according to the Dharma, There is no second thought, you are my witness.
